About our Dance Program

The Dance Kaleidoscope School exists for all to discover and experience dance and build strong, well-rounded dancers in a safe, healthy and inspiring environment.

We offer year round classes, summer camps, special workshops and private lessons. Whether your dancer needs audition preparation or help with a competition solo, our professional dancers and choreographers can support your dancer’s goals.

About our studio:  In August 2020, Dance Kaleidoscope opened the doors to a new, state-of-the-art 13,000-square-foot facility to serve as home to the professional company and school.

Good Things To Know

  • When do classes start?  Fall classes run from September 3, 2024 to December 14, 2024. Students may join anytime pending space in the class.

  • Drop off/pick up procedures.  Parents and caregivers can feel confident that their student is in a caring nurturing environment and you may drop your child at the door.  All are welcome in the building; however, we do encourage families to keep class viewing at a minimum to allow your student to focus on their experience.  We offer special observation weeks several times throughout the year when you can come into the studio to observe and take photos.

  • If you are new to Dance Kaleidoscope, we invite you to attend an open house, arrange a tour at your convenience or during your first class, come in for a quick tour and meet staff.

FAQ's

May I tour the space and meet instructors? Yes! Arrange a tour at your convenience or plan for a tour on your student’s first day of class. We also welcome you at open houses prior to the Fall 2024 Session: July 27, 11-1 PM and August 10, 1-3 PM.

Does your child love to dance and perform?

Consider our Ensemble Program that gives your dancer the opportunity to learn choreography and provides multiple performance opportunities throughout the year at festivals like Penrod, senior centers and during special studio events.  Plus Ensemble students get to share the stage with Dance Kaleidoscope at a performance!

There are four Ensembles for ages 8+ — Ballet, 2 levels, Jazz, Modern and Hip Hop. Students in the Ensemble Program are required to take at least one additional class in the same genre.

Consider joining one of our dance Ensembles. Email us at libbyh@dancekal.org or call 317-419-2380 for more information.

School Policies

  • All students must be potty trained and able to dress themselves. Students should arrive dressed and ready to go.
  • We reserve the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment (3 student minimum).
  • No food, snacks, or drinks besides water in the building! Please ensure water bottles are tightly sealed, and no straws please.
  • If classes need to be canceled for any reason (weather, Covid, etc.) you will be notified via email and we will post on our social media pages.
  • If your child is sick, please keep them home so we can all stay healthy. We are happy to help you schedule a makeup class at the same or a lower level.

Dress Code

  • Everyone’s hair (boys and girls) must be pulled back off the face and neck for all classes. Please no toys, jewelry or accessories.
  • Do not wear dance shoes outdoors, this will damage them and will damage our dance floors.
  • Please mark all dance wear, shoes and personal items with your child’s name.
  • Cell phones must be turned off or on silent in their bags if a dancer must bring it to the studio.
