Instructor: DK Company Dancer Paige Robinson
An expressive dancer captures the audience and no one does that better than instructor and professional dancer Paige Robinson. Dance musicality is how dancers hear, interpret, and dance to music. Dancers can demonstrate dance musicality in several ways – which sounds they choose to dance to, how they highlight the sounds and how they emote the mood of the song. This ballet focused class includes learning a classical variation and is for intermediate level dancers.

Instructor: Guest Choreographer and Dancer Lalah Ayan
This modern class focuses on the Horton Technique, an approach to movement that emphasizes a whole body approach to dance including flexibility, strength, coordination and body and spatial awareness. The technique is said to produce an overall effect of fierceness and in this creative movement based class you'll leave feeling unrestricted with the freedom of expression.
March 18, 2022, 6:00-8:30 PM
Instructor: Mariel Greenlee Lungu, Former Professional Dancer with Dance Kaleidoscope
The best dancers seem to communicate with the audience. How do they do that? Through technical dance you'll explore different ways to communicate ideas and emotion. Start with an abbreviated modern class and then investigate creativity by working with Mariel to experience different ways to deepen and tell your stories physically. At the end of class, you'll put it all together when you learn a short piece of repertory!

What a rare opportunity to take a Graham Technique with someone who personally knew her! In this class you'll experience the major principles of the technique based on "contraction and release," and using different parts of the body in opposition to one another to create spirals for dramatic tension. The class will consist of standing work and traveling across the floor.
