Artistic Director David Hochoy to Retire at the end of the 2022-23 Season
After a thirty-two career at Dance Kaleidoscope, David Hochoy will retire from his position as the Artistic Director at the end of the 2022–2023 Season. This planned retirement coincides with Dance Kaleidoscope’s 50th Anniversary Season. Dance Kaleidoscope is working with Management Consultants for the Arts to aid in the search for Dance Kaleidoscope's next Artistic Director.

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Programs and Administrative Manager at DK through admin help will lead the organization to increasing levels of service, recognition and support. As a right hand to the Executive Director and leadership team, this position ensures the smooth functioning of the business. The ideal candidate promotes a positive and inclusive culture by collaborating to encourage team building, identifies and escalates issues, ensures efficient processes, and maintains mission focus.
Key Responsibilities:
- All around administrative help from expense reports, meeting and event planning, basic QuickBooks data entry, internal and external correspondence, HR support and marketing/promotions
- Manage databases and systems
- Assist with program administration
- With operations manager, field incoming calls/emails/correspondence
Partner/Assistant to the Executive Director
- Support Executive Director with administrative duties for example, maintain board rosters, contracts and contact information and assist with creation and management of special events
- Serve as a thought partner to the Executive Director regarding improving the experience for staff, grantees, donors, and stakeholders
Database, Development and Customer Service (Patron) Management
- Collaborate with Executive Director and Operations Manager with cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of individual and institutional donors
- Assist in managing donor database. Research and implement ongoing database optimization measures including analyzing overall organizational needs and making recommendations for improvement
- Manage donor data, event registration, and donor engagement efforts. Provide regular reports, advice and insights to support growth
- Act as first-impressions liaison and shepherd general organizational questions
Communications, Marketing and Events
- Assist with the development, execution, and monitoring of e-news including creating original content (create, proofread, and edit) in the program called EMMA (similar to Constant Contact)
- Maintain and update website
- Enter all DK events on monthly community calendars
- Coordinate information needed for performance programs including management of program ad sales. Be the primary contact with sponsors to ensure they receive their benefits
- Coordinate with partner organizations to manage program ad trades
- Develop programs to support group sales with companies and organizations
Special Events
- Support special events
- Staff events; for example, performances and outreach and engagement activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Volunteer Coordinator
- Coordinate and organize volunteer program
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The individual must believe in and be a passionate advocate for DK’s mission.
A strong applicant will possess these qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of admin experience
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to successfully juggle multiple priorities, as well as attention to detail
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and relationship-building skills with a strong focus on an inclusive and positive environment. Must be able to build trust and interact with stakeholders and staff at all levels and with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Agile and resourceful problem solver with a solutions-over-obstacles approach
- Excellent judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
- Proficiency with a wide range of software and engagement tools, including basic QuickBooks, CRM systems, mail merges, basic excel with data-sorts, Microsoft Office tools, and facility for basic technical troubleshooting
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires candidates to be in a stationary position 50% of the time. Position also requires the hearing and visual acuity to converse with internal and external constituents in person, over the phone, and via electronic communication with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to lift, pull or push up to 30 pounds when necessary.

DK is seeking to hire an individual who is motivated to make improvements and increase efficiency so that we work smarter – not harder. This position comes with flexibility in scheduling because some work weeks include weekend events and performances. At DK, everyone works together, and we are rewarded with ample time off and flexibility. The successful candidate may propose options to complete work both on-site in the office and off-site at a home office.
This is a full-time exempt position. Annual salary is $40,000 with employer provided health care (DK pays 75% of health insurance premium, 100% of vision, dental and life.) 15 paid holidays and 10 PTO days in year 1.

- Board will vote to approve your membership at or before the next quarterly meeting.
- We'll provide onboarding with an orientation and you'll sign a board agreement and receive board member materials.
- You attend the next Board quarterly meeting.
