Hometown: Fort Wayne, IN
My first experience with DK: I was new in town and a friend gave me tickets to see a DK concert. I remember sitting in the balcony at IRT, being thrilled and blown away that such a fantastic dance company was here. That's the moment I knew I'd made a great choice to move to Indy.
Outside DK, people might find me: Theater is in my blood, so you'll frequently see me either in the audience or on stages around town.
What I love best about working in the arts: First, I am drawn to people with passion about something. Everyone I know in the arts, whether artist, performer or administrator, has a great deal of passion about the arts. The other thing I love is collaborations. When artists of any nature come together for a project, the energy can be amazing.
My Zen place: I am at my most chill when sitting in the sand on a beach at sunset. The roar of the waves and breeze off the water gives me great peace.
Something quirky about me that people might be surprised to learn: I really, really love creepy Christmas decorations. I designed and developed traditional holiday decorations for many years, so my heart turned toward the scary antique Santas, glass head ornaments (with glass doll eyes inserted), and terrifying antique angels with melted faces. Ho ho ho.
Guilty pleasure: Sofa time with my dog, Gordon, with bad TV . . . and chocolate.
