The basic definition of dance (shapes moving through space to a beat) is explored in this eye-catching demonstration. Dancers explain and perform the elements of dance to a wonderful array of music, capturing students’ imaginations and creativity.
Every Day We Write a Dance
Two 45-minute Sessions
Designed for K-8th Grade Students
Based on age appropriate literature the dancers take students through warm-ups, improvisation and the creation of 2 community dance pieces.
Hip-Hop Modern Fusion
Two 1-hour Sessions
Designed for 4th-12th Grade Students
Classes fusing hip hop and modern dance techniques focuses on teamwork, improvisational skills, self-expression and performance.
In-Theatre Performance Series
Student/Mini Matinee Series
One hour
Matinee includes excerpts from our evening production with pre-performance talk and Q & A session.

Immediately preceding the performance, Artistic Director David Hochoy shares his inspiration, processes and obstacles in creating and producing the work the audience is about to experience.

Designed to Engage All Ages
A lecture/discussion hosted by David Hochoy, talking about various topics that will introduce your audiences to Dance Kaleidoscope and contemporary dance. Questions and feedback are desired.

Designed to Engage All Ages
A demonstration, narrated by Dance Kaleidoscope’s Artistic Director David Hochoy that takes the audience through the elements that comprise the Graham Technique and the challenging daily training that prepare the dancers for performance. Hochoy talks about his personal relationship with Martha Graham and her significant influence on contemporary dance while the company demonstrates the beautiful, moving, and athletic elements of her technique.
Class features live percussion accompaniment when available.
