Experience the Unexpected
Dance Kaleidoscope and the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra invite you on a musical movement journey featuring a vast variety of music and challenging, ever changing and comical choreography. You’ll melt in your chair at moments, lean over with laughter and then leap to your feet during the soaring anthem finale.
This not to be missed diverse visual and sonic journey includes 2 world premieres by David Hochoy including Orawa to the music of Kilar. David said this piece written in 1986, is 9 minutes of driving and pulsating music and he has created strident, modem and sharp choreography to match.
The performance also features Bernstein’s Candide Overture, Brahms, Handel, and Ravel, and you’ll delight in the sights and sounds when the stage comes alive with dance, gorgeous new costumes, inventive lighting and remarkable music.
When Ravel wrote Piano Concerto in G Major, he said that in this piece he was not aiming to be profound but to entertain. Entertainment is what 2017 American Pianist Award Winner, Drew Peterson will deliver when he takes the stage alongside the always captivating DK dancers.
Before each performance, Matthew Kraemer from ICO and DK's David Hochoy will host Chamber Chat/Dance Talks on stage: 7:15pm on Fri. & Sat., 1:45pm on Sun. They will talk about the music and dance in the show. Watch this video of Matthew and David now.
